Leave No Man Behind

Or should I say, "leave no ANT behind?"

We've been having a bit of an ant problem at The House.  It all started when some delicious brownies were left out and an entire colony (not to mention the colony's distant relative-colony) decided that my brownies would be an appropriate last meal.  So they invaded, we killed, and reinforcements have been coming ever since.  Apparently, they didn't get the memo that another surge will not win the war.

Today was the first time Jane and I noticed that ants were more than mindless beings, working on the chain.  Today, we saw an ant, carrying a dead ant, presumably to its final resting place.

Leave no ant behind.  How touching.

On a sidenote, I'm so happy the Red Sox are losing.

On another sidenote (and in a pathetic effort to incorporate a picture into this blog), the Santa Ana winds have been working overtime here in SoCal.  This was right in front of Surfer Joe's.

The wind was blowing so hard and the sign was dangling so precariously that it almost fell on me.  Ok, not really - but it could have!
